Box Score Brunswick, Maine - The Trinity College volleyball team lost in three straight sets (25-18, 25-21, and 25-13) to New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) opponent Bowdoin on Friday evening. The loss drops the Bantams to 6-8 on the year and 1-5 in conference play while Bowdoin improves to 11-3 and remains undefeated in NESCAC competition.
Trinity struggled offensively recording their lowest single game kill percentage of the year (.047%), tallying only 18 kills on 86 attacks. Senior co-captain Kate Giddens (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) led the team with seven kills and sophomote Grace Metry (Grasse Point Park, Mich.) recorded 11 digs, but Bowdoin's offense was too much for the Bantams. Senior Christy Jewett (Sunnyvale, Calif.) led all players with 12 kills while junior Quincy Leech (Durham, N.C.) had 26 assists and 13 digs to lead the Polar Bears. Junior Randi Whitham (South Weymouth, Mass.) recorded seven assists and six digs in her first game back from injury for Trinity.
The Bantams return to action Saturday, Oct. 10, as they travel to Boston to take on Emerson. Game time is set for 12:00 p.m.
