Waterville, Maine - Visiting Trinity College twice scored three unanswered goals to earn a 6-2 victory over the Colby College Mules in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) field hockey Saturday at Bill Alfond Field.  Sophomore Brenna Hobin and first-year Chandler Solimine both scored two goals for the Bantams who improve to 3-3 overall and 2-2 in the NESCAC.  Colby drops to 4-3 overall and 1-3 in the league.

The Mules got off to a good start when Megan Fortier took a long pass from McKayla Blanch and scored at 13:23.  The Bantams took the momentum right back at 16:26 when junior Sidney Doolittle (Milford, Conn.) tallied from Solimine and classmate Clare Lyne (Concord, Mass.). The play started with Lyne crossing from the right side, the ball was deflected by Solimine, and Doolittle hammered in the goal from the left side of the cage.

Hobin scored at 26:06 and 29:46 to give the Bantams the lead for good. Trinity junior midfielder Mia Olsen had the first of her two assists and sophomore forward Kelcie Finn (Weymouth, Mass.) had the other pass on the first score.  After Hobin's second goal, Colby moved to within 3-2 at halftime on a play started off a penalty corner. Anna Rudinski found Fortier on the left side and her deflected pass went to Erika Smith on the right for the score.

The Mules were still in the game until Solimine stole a ball from a Colby player and went in to score her first of the game at 44:58.  Lyne tallied at 55:49 and Solimine scored off a penalty corner with 3:10 to play for the final goals.  Colby paced the Bantams in shots, 24 to 20). Trinity senior tri-captain goaltender Sophie Fitzpatrick (Duxbury, Mass.) made 14 saves. Sarah Evans added eight saves for the Mules.
