Northampton, Mass. - Sophomore forward Chandler Solimine (Pelham, N.Y.) scored twice to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 5-1 victory over the Smith College Pioneers in field hockey action this evening.  Trinity wins its season opener, while the Pioneers drop to 1-2.

Trinity took a 2-0 lead at the half thanks to goals by Solimine and fellow sophomore Allison Slowe (Medfield, Mass.), while sophomore back Molly Reilly (Andover, Mass.) and Solimine scored early in the second stanza for a 4-0 Bantam advantage.  Trinity goalkeeper Lori Berger (Scottsdale, Ariz.) made two saves in her collegiate debut.  Julia Hamilton scored for the Pioneers and Bantam junior Cara Daly (Hamilton, Mass.) added a late goal.
