Box Score Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College volleyball team dropped a 3-0 game to the Bates College Bobcats in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) matchup on Saturday afternoon at Oosting Gymnasium in Hartford. Trinity wraps up the regular season with a 7-14 record and 1-9 mark in conference play while Bates improves to 12-13 on the year and 4-6 in league play.
Trinity was led by sophomore Colette Scheffers (Flossmoor, Ill.) who finished with 11 kills and 13 digs, along with junior co-captain Rachel Underwood (Danville, Calif.) who had three aces and 15 digs. Sophomore Wyllie Boughton (Andover, Mass.) added a pair of blocks and 12 digs while rookie Jessica Yang (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) led all players with 24 assists.
Bates, which won via set scores of 25-17, 25-14 and 25-14, was paced by Delaney Mayfield (Santa Barbara, Calif.) and Taylor Stafford-Smith (Calabasas, Calif.) who combined for 13 kills. Jordan Camarillo (Tucson, Ariz.) had a game-high four aces for the Bobcats while Gabi Eustache (New York, N.Y.) finished with 17 digs, and captain Jacqueline Forney (Bloomington, Ind.) had 18 assists and nine digs.
