Hartford, Conn. – The Trinity College women's volleyball program couldn't spoil senior night against the Colby Mules, falling 3-1 on the road Friday night. The Bantams (7-14) took set one, but the Mules (7-16) stole the next three sets, securing a win in a crucial NESCAC contest.

Sophomore Ally Conde (Killingly, Conn.) paced the Bantams offensively with a team-high 12 kills and three blocks, playing a crucial factor in Trinity's opening set win.

Trinity looked to disrupt Colby's senior night and got off to a great start in the first set. The Bantams played even through the first half of set one before taking total control. After tying the set 10-10, sophomore Locke Luhnow (Encino, Calif.) served 11 straight point — including four service aces — and saw kills from classmate Ally Conde (Killingly, Conn.) and Wyllie Boughton (Andover, Mass.) to take a commanding 21-11 lead. Three Colby attack errors combined with two more Conde kills as the Bantams took the first set 25-16.

After back-to-back 25-20 wins for the Mules, Trinity had its back against the wall in set four. Staying within four points the entire set, the Bantams couldn't get over the hump, never leading after the opening eight points.

Sophomore Hareena Johnson (Los Angeles, Calif.) finished the evening with seven kills, one block, and a team-high 13 digs. Senior Colette Scheffers (Flossmoor, Ill.) rounded out the night with six kills, and Luhnow finished the game with 17 assists and four aces.

The Bantams desperately need a win to stay in NESCAC playoff contention, and will travel to Bates Saturday afternoon for a 2 p.m. start.
