Men's Ice Hockey Earns Come-From-Behind Win Over Hamilton to Remain Perfect

Box Score

Hartford, Conn. – The #8 Trinity College men's ice hockey program improved its record to 4-0 after working from behind to beat Hamilton 2-1 Saturday afternoon. The Bantams, who have played all four games against NESCAC opponents, sits atop the conference, with Williams being the only other unbeaten team left in the league.

After a 2-1 win over R/V Amherst Friday night, the Bantams needed a second period rally to keep its unbeaten streak alive. Seeing Hamilton for the first time since the 2018-19 NESCAC semifinal, the Continentals did its part in putting last season's overtime loss behind them by taking an early lead. Sophomore Jordi Jefferson (Wasaga Beach, Ontario) collected a feed from junior Sean Allen (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) and gave the hosts a 1-0 advantage at the midway point of the first period.

The Bantams scored both of its goals in the second period, utilizing a power play goal as the leveler. Sophomore Lucas Michaud (South Portland, Maine) leveled the game with his first goal of the season just three minutes into the period, and junior Taggart Corriveau (New Britain, Conn.) closed out the period with his first of the season — and eventual game-winner — to clinch the win for the Bantams.

Senior Tedy Loughborough (Wellesley, Mass.) made 21 saves on the evening, allowing just one goal in the opening frame.

Trinity remains one of the top defensive teams in the league, closing off Saturday's performance with nine penalty kills to remain perfect on the PK. Giving up an average of 1.00 goal per game, the Bantams will look to continue its unbeaten streak Tuesday night, hosting Manhattanville at 7:30 p.m.
