Hartford, Conn. - Senior co-captain Caroline Curtin (Andover, Mass.) had a goal and an assist to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 3-0 victory over the visiting Keene State College Owls in field hockey action this evening on Sheppard Field.  Trinity, ranked No. 17 in the nation, improves to 3-1 with its second win in a row, its 10th win in a row over the Owls, and its fourth shutout of the Owls in as many seasons, heading into a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) contest on Saturday at noon against No. 14-ranked Williams.  Keene State drops to 3-4 with its first loss in three games, and will host Mass.-Dartmouth on Saturday at 1:30.

Curtin had a hand in the game's first goal just under six minutes into the opening quarter, when she stopped the ball inserted by fellow senior co-captain Nicole Quinlan (Duxbury, Mass.) on a penalty corner and junior forward Kendall Brown (Greenwich, Conn.) finished it off with a blast from the top of the circle.  Trinity sophomore midfielder Caelin Flaherty (Upton, Mass.) knifed through the right side of the Owl defense to score unassisted early in the third quarter, and Curtin tipped in a shot by Quinlan with 2:18 left in the third frame to round out the scoring. 

Trinity nearly scored twice more, but two shots into the cage were waved off.  Keene State managed just a single shot on goal that was turned away by Bantam rookie backstop Emma Cropper (Wilton, Conn.) late in the third quarter.  Trinity finished with a 23-to-4 shooting advantage while earning 12 penalty corners to two for the Owls.  Keene State junior goalkeeper Rachel Loseby (Hartford, Vt.) did her best with 12 saves.
