MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Trinity College women's soccer team lost to Wesleyan University Tuesday night, 2-1. The Bantams fall to 6-4-1 with a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) record of 2-3-1. The Cardinals improve to 7-1 (5-1 NESCAC). Trinity plays next at Hamilton College on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Wesleyan scored in the first two minutes of action when Grace Devanny initially whiffed on a centering pass but managed to net the ball for the 1-0 lead. With just under 16 minutes to go, sophomore
Tori Simas put the equalizer past the keeper for her fourth goal of the season but the Cardinals were able to answer when Devanny knocked in her second goal of the contest at the 83:50 mark.
Both sides put five shots on goal and had five corner kick opportunities.
Mariana Cournoyer tallied three saves for the Bantams while Wesleyan's Sarah Hammond registered four of her own.
