MEDFORD, Mass. — The Trinity College volleyball team fell in three sets at Tufts University this Saturday afternoon (25-15, 25-22, 25-17). The Bantams' loss puts them at 7-10 overall and 0-6 in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) standings. Tufts improves its record to 11-4 (4-2 NESCAC). Trinity plays next Friday at 8 p.m. hosting Colby College in Oosting Gymnasium.
The Bantams were neck-and-neck with Tufts to start the first set, as the Jumbos led 9-7. Tufts later ran away with the lead finishing out the set 25-15 over Trinity. The Bantams came out of the gates strong in the second set, leading by as many as six. Multiple kills kept Trinity alive as both teams provided a competitive set. Tufts would rally, stringing together a four-point run to take the lead at 17-15 before closing out the set 25-22. Trinity had an early five-point run in the 3rd set, including kills by Junior
Molly Bernstein (Oakland, Calif.) and Sophomore
Sydney Cross-Watts (Denver, Colo.), however, a 14-2 Jumbo run was too much for the Bantams to overcome in the days' final set.
Trinity tallied 27 total kills on the night, as Cross-Watts and first-year
Eva Lekovic (San Marino, Calif.) each provided six. Senior
Locke Luhnow (Encino, Calif.) and first-year
