HARTFORD, CONN. - Senior guard Rachel Parks scored 12 points to lead the visiting George Fox University Bruins to a 68-56 victory over the Trinity College Bantams in women's basketball action this afternoon on Ogrodnik Court in Oosting Gymnasium. Bailey Hyland (Broad Brook, Conn.) had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Bantams. The Bantams will host United States Coast Guard academy on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in their next game. George plays at Emerson tomorrow at 1 p.m.
George Fox held a slim lead at 12-11 late in the first quarter but Parks drilled back-to-back three-pointers to close the first quarter and start the second. The Bruins pushed their lead to double digits in the second quarter and led, 35-21, at the break despite sending Trinity to the foul line 22 times. In the second half, the Bantams came out hot, going on a 9-1 run for the first 2:41. The Bantams managed to get within three points with 3:49 left in the quarter on a layup by senior tri-captain
Elizabeth Althoff (Staten Island, N.Y.), but George Fox managed to create more separation by the start of the fourth. George Fox answered every big shot by the Bantams in the final stanza to keep a comfortable advantage until the final buzzer.

Frankie Silva (Auburndale, Mass.) paced the Bantams with 12 points added four rebounds, while Althoff ended the game with eight points and nine rebounds, rookie guard

Indianna DelRocco (Branford, Conn.) contributed eight points and four assists off the bench. Trinity shot just 29.8 percent from the floor (17-57) while the Bruins shot 46.8 percent from the floor (22-47). Trinity Alyssa Wells joined Parks in double figures for George Fox with 11 points and Jordan Ryan paced the visitors on the glass with nine rebounds.
