Trinity Women's Basketball Downs Eastern Connecticut On The Road

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. - Junior guard Bria Fuller (Springdale, Md.) scored a game-high 22 points, as the Trinity College women's basketball team notched its second win of the season, 55-48, on the road against Eastern Connecticut State University. The Bantams spoiled Eastern Connecticut's home opener to improve to 2-1, while the Eastern Connecticut Warriors drop to 1-3. Trinity will next go on the road to face Smith College on Sunday, November 28 and Eastern Connecticut will travel to Western New England on Tuesday.  

Eastern Connecticut State Warriors held a 25-21 lead at halftime, and led for the majority of the contest, but the Bantams stayed in front for the final 7:09 of regulation following the go-ahead layup by first-year guard Hannah Marzo (Shrewsbury, Mass.). Trinity biggest edge in the contest was in the free throw battle, going 22-for-29 while Eastern Connecticut State went just 8-for-11. 

Fuller, who added six assists and four rebounds,scored eight of Trinity's final 10 points and made 12 of 14 tries from the charity stripe. Trinity's bench scored an impressive 18 points to just two for the Warriors. Trinity also won the turnover battle, giving the ball away just 12 times to Eastern Connecticut State's 18 turnovers. Junior center Samantha Gallo (Northford, Conn.) had nine points and eight rebounds for the Bantams off the bench.
