HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College men's ice hockey team fell to No. 3 nationally-ranked Adrian College, 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Koppel Community Sports Center. The loss marks the first for the Bantams on the year as they drop to 3-1 while Adrian improves to 7-1. Trinity has nearly a week off before hosting New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) foe, Amherst College Friday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m.
Adrian's goal came at the 11:47 mark when Matt Eller sent the puck in to Alessio Luciani in the crease. Luciani's initial attempt was saved by Trinity goal keeper
Patrick Pugliese but Matus Spodniak was there to clean up the rebound for the Adrian score.
Following interference and tripping penalties on the Bulldogs, Trinity had a 20-second six-on-four power play opportunity but
Kyle Tomaso's shot was blocked by Adeniye Ayodele. Both teams took 35 shots. Trinity was 0-5 on power-plays while Adrian also failed to score on each of its four man-up opportunities.
