Trinity Volleyball Wins Season Opener At St. Joseph

West Hartford, Conn. – The visiting Trinity College Bantams downed the the University of St. Joseph Bluejays in four sets, 3-1, at O'Connell Athletic Center.
The Blue Jays took the first set 25-21, but failed to reach the 20-point mark in each of the next three sets, as the Bantams utilized a consistent stream of attacks to take the win and outscored USJ, 75-39, in sets two, three, and four.  Trinity takes its season opener and its third win in as many tries all-time against St. Joseph, and will host its annual invitational on Friday and Saturday.

First-year Eva Lekovic (San Marino, Calif.), sophomore Lola Craig (Los Angeles, Calif.), and junior Molly Bernstein (Oakland, Calif.) combined for 32 kills among them for Trinity.  Senior outside hitter and captain Hannah Benson, who had a career-high 22 kills in the win Saturday, led the Blue Jays once again with 11 on Tuesday evening.  Craig also had 17 digs and four aces, while senior Locke Luhnow (Encino, Calif.) paced the Bantams with 29 assists.
