Trinity Men's Basketball Falls At Wesleyan In NESCAC Opener

Box Score MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The visiting Trinity College Bantams dropped their New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) opener, 82-74, at No. 21-ranked Wesleyan this evening at Solloway Gymnasium.  Trinity falls to 7-4 and the Cardinals are now 14-1 overall and 2-0 in the NESCAC.  Trinity hosts conference rival Bowdoin on Tuesday at 3 p.m. in its next game.  The Bantams were led by Will Dorion who scored a game-high 22 points to go along with eight rebounds and three assists. Otoo finished with 13 points, sophomore Ben Callahan-Gold (New York, N.Y.) registered 11 while Ethan McEachern (York, Maine) chipped in a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists.
 
Trinity battled back from a 30-13 deficit with 7:16 left in the first half and trailed by single digits at 40-32 at halftime.  Dorion (Needham, Mass.) had six points in the final seven minutes before halftime, as the Bantams scored 19 of the final 29 points in the first stanza including the last two on a Dorion jumper.  Otoo (Burtonsville, Md.) hit from deep on the first possession of the second half to make it, 40-35, Wesleyan rattled off the game's next 13 points in a span of just 3:36.  Trinity kept battling and trailed by just six at 74-68 with 2:24 left after five Dorion points and two free throws by senior tri-captain guard Darius Lue (Tampa, Fla.). Gabe Ravetz put the home team back ahead by nine with a put-back and a free throw, and solid foul shooting down the stretch sealed the game for the Cardinals.
