Liam Colleran (Norwalk, Conn.) and sophomore diver
Jackson Camporin (New Canaan, Conn.) each remained undefeated for the season with two individual wins apiece, as the Trinity College Bantams returned to the pool with a 171-120 setback at Wesleyan University this afternoon. Following a 46-day layoff, the Bantams took first place in eight individual events plus the 400-yard medley relay but fell to 0-4 in dual meets with a road contest against Wheaton coming up on Saturday at noon. Quin Woods (Lincoln, Neb.) also won twice, while sophomores
Colin Leonard (Concord, Mass.) and
Ben Lundy (Woodberry Forest, Va.) each won races.
"I am very proud of the way we competed today," said Trinity Head Coach
Carlos Vega. "It was a very tough week and after 2.5 weeks of being on campus and four meets canceled. We proved to ourselves just how mentally tough we can be when faced with a little adversity and an opportunity to compete!"
Colleran, Woods, Lundy and first-year
Tadija Ciric (Nis, Serbia) started things off with a winning time of 3:39.19 in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Colleran won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 53.63 and the 200-yard back at 1:59.59. Woods swept the breaststroke with winning times of 1:02.94 and 2:17.76 in the 100- and 200-yard events, respectively. Leonard added a first-place time in the 100-yard free with a time of 50.00 and Lundy won the 100-yard fly at 52.23. In diving, Camporin picked up 18 points with winning scores of 266.93 off the one-meter board and 233.10 off the the three-meter board.
