Rasheed Sarieh (Nashville, Tenn.) recorded his second goal of the season in the Trinity College men's soccer close 2-1 loss at Bates College on Saturday. The Bantams fell to 0-4-3 overall and 0-4-1 in the Northeast Small College Athletic Conference, while Bates moved to 4-4 and 1-4.
The teams remained in a 0-0 deadlock through the first half before Tife Agunloye snapped the draw with a goal for Bates three minutes into the second half. Sarieh retaliated with the game-tying goal 27 minutes later off the foot of
James Donaldson (Kirkland, Quebec). With six minutes remaining in the game, Alec Szwarcewicz's goal helped the home team take the 2-1 lead off a Trinity foul.
Bates outshot the visitors 13-10 and attempted three more on target.
Bernardo Simoes (Lisbon, Portugal) made six saves in the cage for the Bantams and faced eight shots, while Bates' goalkeeper Nico Hessel stopped four shots and saw five.
Trinity remains on the road for a 3 p.m. contest at Tufts University on Sunday.
