Men's Soccer Falls 5-1 to Amherst in Season Finale

First-year Oliver Dahlen notched the Trinity goal in the second half.

HARTFORD, Conn. — In the final game of the regular season, rookie Oliver Dahlen (Wilton, Conn.) notched his second career goal for the Trinity College men's soccer team in the 5-1 loss against New England Small College Athletic Conference opponent Amherst College on Wednesday. The Bantams rounded out the season 1-11-3 overall and 0-9-1 in the league, while the Mammoths finished 9-1-5 and 4-1-5.

In the net, the visitors' goalkeeper Bernie White attempted a dive at the ball but missed the connection. Dahlen capitalized with a leap over the keeper to tip the ball past a defender low into the right corner of the net with help by Jacob Loor's (Houston, Texas) backwards pass after a lofty pass from Charles Kaldor (Larchmont, N.Y.). A little over seven and a half minutes into the game, Amherst scored its first goal of the night when Aidan Curtis connected with the net off the foot of Simon Kalinauskas from the right corner. The Mammoths etched a pair of goals in the opening stanza, followed by two more in the second half.
