HARTFORD, Conn. - Sophomore Matthew Brown (Nahant, Mass.) won both distance events to highlight the Trinity College men's swimming and diving season opener against the visiting Babson College Beavers this afternoon at Trinity Natatorium. Babson won the meet by a score of 179-118 to improve to 6-1. Trinity hits the water again tomorrow for a tri-meet at home with the Colby College Mules and the Hamilton College Continentals. 

Brown won the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:06.98 and the 500-yard free at 4:55.26.  Trinity junior diver Jackson Camporin (New Canaan, Conn.) had a nice season debut with winning scores of 266.99 off the one-meter board and 271.79 off the three-meter board, while rookie Owen Schmidt (South Hamilton, Mass.) added a second-place score of 183.30 in the three-meter event. In the 100-yard backstroke, Bantam senior Liam Colleran (Norwalk, Conn.) was first at 53.34 and first-year Patrick Cadogan (Sudbury, Mass.) placed second at 57.74
