WORCESTER, Mass. - The Trinity College Bantams outraced four top-15 teams, including top-ranked Wellesley College, in its varsity eight preliminary heat at the Clark/WPI Women's Rowing Invitational on Lake Quinsigamond this afternoon.  Trinity posted a winning time of 6:52, edging second-place Wellesley by 2.06 seconds and also finishing ahead of No. 7-ranked Clark, No. 13-ranked Rochester Tech, and No. 14-ranked Washington College.  In the grand final, the Bantams recorded a fifth-place time 6:50.77, just a half second behind fourth-place Clark. Wellesley came back to with in the grand final, followed by No. 3-ranked Bates and No. 5-ranked Worcester Tech, Clark, and the Bantams. Trinity's second-varsity eight came in fifth place in its heat and third in the petit final, while its third-varsity eight finished ahead of Clark and behind WPI in its race.
