Trinity Women's Rowing Takes Second In Clark/WPI Invitational Two

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Trinity College women's varsity eight posted a second-place time of 7:50.23 in the grand final of the Clark/WPI Rowing Invitational #2 this afternoon on Lake Quinsigamond.  The Bantams, tied for the No. 7 ranking in the nation, placed second behind No. 3-ranked Worcester Tech and bested No. 6-ranked Clark, who had beaten Trinity in a preliminary heat by over three seconds, by 5.65 seconds.  William Smith finished fourth in the grand final.  In the preliminaries, Trinity was second between Clark and Connecticut College.  Trinity's second-varsity eight finished fourth of four in a race that also included WPI, Clark, and Colby and its third-varsity eight was third against two WPI boats and a crew from Clark.  The Bantams will close the dual-racing season tomorrow against Wesleyan, also ranked No. 7 nationally, on Lake Coventry.
