HARTFORD, Conn. - Sophomore
Tiffany Stowers (Burke, Va.) went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs at the plate and tossed a complete game in the circle to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 6-5 victory over the visiting Colby College Mules in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) East Division softball action this afternoon. The Bantams, which won the three-game series opener, 5-2, yesterday but lost the second game today, 14-0, in five innings, earn second place in the NESCAC East with today's victory. Trinity closes the regular season at 18-13 overall and 8-4 in the division, while the Mules drop to 19-14 overall and 7-5 in the division heading into next weekend's NESCAC Championship Tournament at Tufts.

Hannah Mullaney (Hebron, Conn.), but Colby pitcher Sam Ahlholm kept the home team off the board the rest of the way. Colby chipped away with two unearned runs in the fifth and scored three runs on a walk, three singles, and a double before Stowers retired the last out on a grounder. Rogers and Tito both had two hits for the Trinity offense, while Amanda Cabral and Katelyn Hays did the same for the Mules. Stowers scattered eight hits and struck out three to improve to 6-6. Ahlholm gave up nine hits and fell to 9-4. In the second game, Colby pounded 15 hits and scored in each of the first four innings against three Trinity pitchers.
