NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Trinity College men's track and field team placed third scoring 111 points during its second meet of the season on Saturday at the in the Coast Guard Invitational while six Bantams took home first place victories in their respective events. The Bantams finished behind first place UMass Dartmouth (121 points) and Coast Guard (115 points). Trinity returns to competition next weekend, starting on Friday at the Silfen Invitational hosted by Connecticut College.

Kai Bailin (Shutesbury, Mass.) won the 200 Meter Dash with a time of personal record time of 21.88 seconds and also placed third in the 400 Meter with a 50.63 second performance. Meanwhile, teammate and first-year
Nolan McKenna (Boston, Mass.) won the 400 Meter Dash and also set a new personal record, finishing with a 49.68 second time. Junior
Travis Martin (New Haven, Conn.) won the 800 Meter Run with a 1:51.80. Senior
Tim Lautenbach (Weston, Conn.) earned a first place victory in the 1500 Meter clocking a 4:00.19 performance while
Toby L'Esperance placed third with a 4:06.00. Sophomore
Sam Strymish (Newton, Mass.) finished as the runner-up in the 5000 meter, posting a 15:28.87 time and the 4x400 Relay team of Lautenbach, Martin, L'Esperance and first-year
Larson Sippel (Northampton, Mass.) finished in third place with a 3:29.11.
In the field events, senior captain
Kinnard Hughes (Chicago, Ill.) took home the triple jump crown with a mark of 13.58 meters and first-year
Ethan Wilkie (Ellington, Conn.) won the shot put (14.88m), was the runner-up in the discus (42.01m) and placed fourth in the hammer throw (43.37m). Additionally, first-year (Mendham, N.J.)
Andrew Moran, first-year Benjamin Duperre (Somers, Conn.) and
J.J. Mun (Seoul, South Korea) each registered personal record in their throwing events on the day.
