Hughes Breaks School Record at NEICAAA Championship

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Trinity College men's track and field team finished 27th out of 40 scoring teams with eight points at the NEICAAA Championship hosted by Bryant University. Senior captain Kinnard Hughes (Chicago, Ill.) placed second in the triple jump, qualifiying for nationals and breaking Aman Suppard's 2015 Trinity College school record with a mark on 14.78 meters. Junior Kai Bailin (Shutesbury, Mass.) placed eighth in the 400 Meter Hurdle Prelims with a time of 54.70 seconds but was forced to scratch from the finals due to a tight hamstring. Additionally, the 4x100 Relay team of Terrence Bogan, Bailin, Darren Warren and Robert Allen nearly broke a school record but was disqualified due to a lane violation on a bobbled baton.
