Hamada Returns To Trinity Men's Squash As Assistant Coach

HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College men's squash program has announced the hiring of Moustafa Hamada '15 as an assistant coach.  Hamada, a former Trinity captain who helped the Bantams win two College Squash Association (CSA) National titles, comes back to Hartford from Princeton where he has served as an assistant men's squash coach since 2018.  Led by Head Coach Paul Assaiante (28th season), the Bantams finished the 2021-22 season with a 17-3 record, won their 15th NESCAC Championship in a row, and finished fifth in the CSA National Team Championship (Potter Trophy) Tournament.  Trinity fell to Columbia, 5-4, in the first round of the tournament, but proceeded to defeat Virginia (5-4) and Princeton (5-4) to take home fifth place.

Hamada played a pivotal role in Princeton's recent success, helping the Tigers finish among the nation's top eight teams each year.  He has considerable coaching experience with top-level clubs and teams of all ages, including stints with both the United States National Team and the Egyptian National Team.  Hamada earned his bachelor's degree from Trinity in political science.  He was a four-year starter for the Bantams, helping Trinity win four New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) titles, National crowns in 2013 and 2015, and finishing his career with a 66-12 individual record.

"I am beyond ecstatic for the opportunity to come back home to Trinity," said Hamada. "I had an unforgettable experience here as a student-athlete and I return full of motivation to contribute to the future of the program. Trinity is well-renowned in the squash world not only for winning national championships but also for its family-like community. I cannot wait to meet the team and to work alongside my coach and mentor, and the rest of the administration. Go Bants!"
