Box Score 2 WORCESTER, Mass. — On the road, the Trinity College volleyball team toppled Worcester State 3-0 and the University of New England 3-1 at the Tri-Match on Saturday. The Bantams improved to 2-1 overall, while Worcester dropped to 0-6 and New England 1-4.
Trinity is back in action on Thursday against United Stated Coast Guard Academy at 6 p.m. in New London, Conn.
Trinity at Worcester State
W (25-14, 26-24, 25-18)
Lola Craig (Los Angeles, Calif.) dominated on Saturday offensively for the Trinity College volleyball team in a 3-0 triumph over Worcester State (25-14, 26-24, 25-18). The Bantams improved to 2-1 overall and the Lancers dropped to 0-6.
Craig tallied 10 kills, 35 total attacks, a trio of aces and a block assist. The team had 45 kills collectively compared to the home team's 24.
Teammate Kaila Dowd (Kennesaw, Ga.) went on a serve run for five points early in the first set to take the 5-2 lead. In a similar fashion, rookie Sarai Davis (Fairburn, Ga.)had a serving run in the second set for six points and nabbed a 6-2 lead.
The Lancers rallied back to knot it 24-24 before back-to-back kills by Davis and Craig.
Trinity vs. University of New England
W (25-14, 25-20, 20-25, 27-25)
Margaret McCarthy (San Diego, Calif.) led the team in game two with 11 kills, 21 total attacks and a pair of solo blocks. Craig continued to be a force with eight kills and 45 total attacks.
The team combined for a total of 36 kills, a total of 142 total attacks and a trio of solo blocks.
The Bantams were up the first two sets before New England rallied back in the third set.
