Box Score LEWISTON, Maine — Lola Craig (Los Angeles, Calif.) led the team with 10 kills in the Trinity College volleyball team's 3-0 sweep over New England Small College Athletic Conference foe Bates College on Friday (25-14, 25-14, 25-22). The team improved to 4-7 overall and 1-2 in the league, while Bates dropped to 4-6 and 0-4.

The Bantams dominated in the first sets with a final score of 25-14 in both with a team total of 20 kills, seven serving aces and a block. Bates attempted to rally back in the third set with a close comeback before the visitors tallied the 25-22 victory.  The visiting team was down 18-13 before the Bantams knotted the set at 20 a piece thanks to a five-point serving run by Margaret McCarthy (San Diego, Calif.). Bates rallied to get back within one before back-to-back points by a serving error by the opponent and a serving ace by Julia Torre (Cape Elizabeth, Maine).

The Bantams stay on the road as they travel to NESCAC rival Colby on October 1 for a 1 p.m. matchup.
