Three Standouts for Women's Swimming & Diving Against Wesleyan

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — First-year Niamh Kastner (Williamsburg, Pa.) and juniors Marissa Lopez-Ona (Westport, Conn.) and Morgan Lenoce (Philadelphia, Pa.) finished with high marks in two events each in the Trinity College women's swimming & diving loss with Wesleyan on Wednesday, 200-97. Trinity fell to 5-3 while Wesleyan moved to 4-6. The Bantams are back in action at home on January 21 with 1 p.m. matchup with Wheaton College (Mass.) in the Trinity Natatorium.

Kastner secured the top spot in the 100 yard fly with a time of 59.94 and was 0:01.91 seconds faster than the second-place finisher Heddy Parker. The rookie also placed first in the 400 yard IM with a time of 4:45.96. Lopez-Ona finished second in the 50-yard and 100-yard breast with times of 31.83 and 1:08.09, respectively, and was only behind the top-finisher 0:29 seconds in the 50 and 0:00.02 seconds in the 100. Lenoce outswam the second-place finished by 0:03.15 seconds to claim first-place in the 100-yard back with a time of 1:01.58 and narrowly missed the top spot in the 50-yard back by a 0:01.27 second margin for second-place.

The three were joined by sophomore Isabelle Tagliaferro (Bedford, N.H.) in the 200-yard medley relay and notched a second-place finish with a time of 1:50.78, just 0:00.26 shy of first-place.
