Box Score WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Trinity College Football team scored 28 unanswered points en route to a 41-14 victory over Williams College in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) clash at Farley-Lamb Field Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Bantams rise to 5-1 on the season, and 5-1 overall, while the Ephs slip to 2-4 in the NESCAC and 2-4 on the season.
The Ephs struck first, moving the ball 75 yards on seven plays during their opening drive. On first-and-10 from the Trinity 26-yard line, Williams first-year quarterback Owen McHugh (Milton, Mass.) found classmate Brady Stahelski (Palmer, Mass.) on a post pattern in the endzone, giving the Ephs a 7-0 advantage with 11:35 left in the first quarter.

Spencer Fetter (Winter Park, Fla.) connected with junior
Sean Clapp (Wyckoff, N.J.) on an 18-yard slant that found paydirt, capping off a nine-play, 79-yard drive by the Bantams to even the score at 7-7.
Less than a minute into the second half, Trinity scored the first of five unanswered touchdowns. On first down from the Williams 13-yard line, Fetter hit senior
Max Roche over the middle, where Roche spun around his defender and raced into the endzone from nine yards out, putting the Bantams up 14-7.
After the Bantams defense forced a three-and-out, Fetter and Clapp linked up again, as Clapp worked through the defense and found some where open space down the sideline where Fetter placed a deep ball on the numbers, and Clapp walked into the endzone untouched to extend the Trinity lead to 21-7. With just over five minutes remaining in the first half, Clapp hauled in his third touchdown of the day, dragging a defender into the endzone on a 14-yard score, making it 28-7.
Trinity delivered another touchdown on their final possession of the half as Clapp elevated over his defender to pull down a 36-yard pass to put the Bantams on the Ephs six-yard line. Two play later, senior
Colin McCabe (Madison, Conn.) rumbled into the endzone from six yards out to hand Trinity a 34-7 lead at the half.
The Trinity offensive carried their momentum into the second half, scoring on their opening drive of the third quarter. On first-and-10 from the Trinity 39-yard line, McCabe broke through the line and to the outside, where he raced by the Ephs defense and broke a last-ditch tackle en route to the 61-yard touchdown run, increasing the Trinity advantage to 41-7.
The Ephs halted the Bantams offensive surge with a score late in the third quarter as McHugh found junior Cameron Lee (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) open behind the Trinity defense for a 52-yard touchdown pass, trimming the deficit to 41-14 with 1:19 left in the third quarter. The Bantams defense held Williams off the scoreboard in the final quarter to secure the 41-14 victory.
Trinity racked up 432 total yards, with 244 yards passing and 188 yards rushing, and 18 first downs in the win. Fetter completed 12-of-18 passes for 242 yards and a season-high four touchdowns. Clapp had a monster day, hauling in five catches for 129 yards and a career-high three touchdowns, while Roche added two catches for 25 yards and a score. McHugh registered 200 yards, completing 14-of-27 attempts, and added 33 yards rushing for Williams. Lee tallied 103 receiving yards on four catches with a touchdown, while Stahelski notched 49 yards on three catches with a score.
The Bantams will be back in action with a NESCAC road trip to Bowdoin College next Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
