Box Score AMHERST, Mass. – The Trinity College Women's Volleyball squad battled host Amherst College in a five-set loss, 3-2 (25-22, 26-24, 23-25, 23-25, 12-15), during a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) matchup at LeFrak Gymnasium Friday night. The Bantams dip to 9-5 on the season, and 2-3 in the NESCAC, while the Mammoths rise to 6-6 overall and 3-3 in conference.
The Bantams had three attackers reach double digits in kills, led by a career-high 20 kills from junior
Eva Lekovic (San Marino, Calif.). Junior
Bella Caffuzzi (Brooklyn, N.Y.) slammed a career-high 18 kills with four blocks, while sophomore
Ellie Gordon (Los Angeles, Calif.) added 10 kills and four blocks. Senior
Lola Craig (Los Angeles, Calif.) tallied nine kills with 13 digs, and classmate
Margaret McCarthy (San Diego, Calif.) also grabbed 13 digs with eight kills. First-year libero
Scarlett Jago (Allentown, Pa.) snared a career-high 42 digs with six assists. Sophomore
Caroline Howell (Houston, Texas) matched a career-high with 35 assists along with a career-high 17 digs. Junior
Grace Sullivan (Fort Worth, Texas) totaled a season-high 22 assists with six digs in the loss.
Amherst sophomore Charlotte Rasmussen (Los Angeles, Calif.) knocked a match-high 24 kills with 16 digs and three aces. Juniors Anya Thomas (Montgomery, Ala.) and Kinsey Cronin (Medford, Minn.) registered 10 kills each, with Thomas adding 23 digs. Senior Carley Cooper (Nashville, Tenn.) totaled a match-high 46 assists, while junior Lizzie Papalia (Fisherville, Ky.) had 29 digs and six assists.
The Bantams will be back on the court with a NESCAC road trip to Williams College Saturday afternoon. First serve is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Amherst hosts Wesleyan in NESCAC play Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
