AMHERST, Mass. – The second-ranked Trinity College Women's Squash team rolled past host Amherst College, 8-1, in a match at the Davenport Squash Courts Tuesday night. The Bantams rise to 4-0 on the season, while Amherst slides to 4-2 overall.
Junior Malak Moustafa blanked Alex Brown, 3-0 (11-7, 11-2, 11-4), followed by a 3-0 (11-7, 11-4, 11-2) win by junior Jana Safy over Tanmai Pathak. Sophomore Kara Lincou defeated Callie Delalio, 3-0 (11-6, 11-6, 11-6), and then sophomore Amanda Miller lost to Suraiya Khan Suri, 0-3 (5-11, 7-11, 6-11) to set the score at 3-1.
The Bantams pulled away as sophomore Fabiola Cabello downed Maggie Pearson, 3-0 (11-3, 11-8, 11-2) and senior Madeleine Hylland collected a 3-0 (11-9, 11-3, 13-11) victory over Yana Sharma. Sophomore Zaynab Khan rolled past Blair Englert, 3-0 (11-3, 11-3, 11-4) and senior Nouran Youssef defeated Quincy Cline, 3-0 (11-1, 11-5, 11-4) to put Trinity on the doorstep of victory. Junior Janna El Ashmawy wrapped up the win with a 3-0 (11-6, 11-1, 11-7) win over Morgan Chaudhary to wrap up the 8-1 win.
The Bantams return to the courts following the winter break when they host Stanford University at the Kellner Squash Courts on January 13th at 1:00 p.m.
