LEWISTON, Maine — Rookie
Molly McGuckin (Darien, Conn.) netted back-to-back goals in the first quarter for the Trinity College women's lacrosse team followed by a pair of goals and an assist as the Bantams rolled past Bates College 12-2 on Saturday. Trinity remains perfect on the season with a 3-0 overall record and 2-0 in the New England Small College Athletic Conference, while the Bobcats fell to 2-3 and 0-2. The Bantams host league foe Middlebury College on March 18 at noon on Robin L. Sheppard Field.
A minute and a half after the McGuckin goals, Lauren Wong put the home team on the board with after a Bobcat groundball kept the possession in the opponents net. The Navy & Gold tallied eight more goals across the second and fourth quarters for a strong 10-1 lead before Bates netted a second with 4:25 left in the final stanza. Along with McGuckin,

Natalie Miller (Northport, N.Y.) and
Caitlyn Buermann (West Caldwell, N.J.) all had a hand in padding the Bantams win.
Trinity outshot Bates 35-16, with 14 flying through the air in the fourth quarter. Trinity was able to capitalize on a pair of player up opportunities, while the Bobcats never held the advantage. McGuckin attempted seven shots, five on target and totaled four goals and an assist.
Alyssa Vitale (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) and
Ali Macdougall (Southbury, Conn.) split time in the net with a combined five saves, while Cammie Lavoie saved 10.
