ORLANDO, Fla. — The Trinity College men's tennis team dropped a 6-3 match in its last Florida competition against Carleton University on Friday. Trinity moved to 3-5, while the Knights improved to 10-2. The Bantams return to the Northeast with a matchup against Springfield College at 4 p.m. on March 29.
Eduardo Sanchez-Carrion (Lima, Peru) and
Brandon Felcher (Westport, Conn.) comes out on top with an 8-6 victory at No. 2 doubles against Ozzie Viswanathan and Zach Leslie, while
Henry Bilicic (Del Mar, Calif.) and
Jack Ginter (Pheonixville, Pa.) narrowly fell 8-6 at No. 1 to Tarm Rojanasoonthon and Tate Fuller. Bilicic narrowly swept Rojanasoonthon in a 7-6 (5) first set win, followed by a strong 6-2 triumph at No. 1 singles.
Pierce Rutledge (Chicago, Ill.) also posted a two-set victory at No. 6 singles against Kniights' Aniketh Vipparla. Sanchez-Carrion and Felcher battled through three sets, but ultimately fell in the third 7-10 and 5-10 at No. 2 and 4 singles, respectively. Sanchez-Carrion won the opening set 6-2, but narrowly dropped the second 6-4 against Fuller, while Felcher rallied back after a 6-4 loss to Viswanathan with a 6-4 win in the second set.
