Trinity Baseball Takes Series Opener At Williams

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Senior OF Brandon Chow (Greenwich, Conn.) went 3-for-5 with a run, a double, and an RBI to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 7-4 victory over the Williams College Ephs in the opening game of a three-game baseball series this afternoon on Bobby Coombs Field.  Trinity improves to 19-12 and Williams falls to 13-16.  The teams will look to play an 11 a.m. doiubleheader tomorrow to complete the series.

Trinity ran out to a 7-0 lead, scoring the game's first run on a leadoff walk by first-year OF Andrew Thomas Park (Flushing, N.Y.) and an RBI single by Chow in the third inning.  Trinity scored again in the fourth frame on a leadoff double by junior Jack Ryan (Bethesda, Md.) and a run-scoring hit by senior 2B Patrick Dillon (Bronx, N.Y.), and again when first-year Dylan Schnitzer (Huntington, N.Y.) singled to start the fifth and scored on a wild pitch.  Bantam junior righty Alex Chang (Sands Point, N.Y.) cruised through six innings and allowed three hits and three walks with four strikeouts.

The Bantams broke the game open with four runs in the seventh inning.  Chow doubled and scored in the inning and junior 1B Sean Meth (Sands Point, N.Y.) smacked a two-run single, stole second and scored a run.  Williams broke through in the eighth frame with three runs including two on a two-out, two-run single by D. Driscoll.  Trinity sophomore reliever Tyler Colditz (Lakewood Ranch, Fla.) came in and shut the door in the eighth by recording a strikeout with two runners on base for the third out.  M. Brown hit a solo homer for the Ephs to make the score, 7-4, in the bottom of the ninth, but Colditz closed the game out.
