Field Hockey Dedicates New Press Box to Former Head Coach Parmenter

HARTFORD, Conn. — Prior to the Trinity College field hockey's New England Small College Athletic Conference contest against the visiting Bates College Bobcats Saturday afternoon, Trinity will hold a ceremony at 11 a.m. dedicating the new "Anne L. Parmenter" press box, in honor of the legendary coach who retired following the 2022 season after 22 years with the Bantams. Parmenter guided the Bantams to 15-5 record last season, including appearances in NESCAC Championship Semifinals and NCAA Division III Championship Quarterfinals.

Parmenter rekindled the storied success of the Trinity field hockey program when she took over in 2001 and had the Bantams qualifying for the post-season on an annual basis over the last 16 years.  Parmenter guided Trinity to the best record in the NESCAC in 2009 and made NCAA Tournament appearances in in 2008, 2009, 2016, 2017, and 2021. Her teams played their way into the NCAA Quarterfinals three times, including a historic run to the NCAA Division III Final Four last fall.  She has won over 330 field hockey games in 35 seasons coaching field hockey at Connecticut College and Trinity and was inducted into the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Hall of Fame in 2019.
