Trinity Women's Swimming Make a Splash Against Clark and USJ in Dual Meet

HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Women's Swimming & Diving team hosted visiting Clark and University of Saint Joseph's in Trinity Natatorium on Saturday afternoon. The Bantams found success in the lanes and on the diving board overpowering the Cougars with a score of 242-40 and swimming past the Blue Jays 247-44.

Highlights:

  • The 200-medley relay team of Hannah Flis, Charlotte Murphree, Alex Snyder and Rachel Lundy took first overall with a time of 1:53.50.
  • First year, Murphree won the 1000 freestyle in a best time of 11:17.46.
  • Trinity went 1,2,3 in the 200-yard freestyle with first-year Flis winning with a time of 2:04.38.
  • Trinity took first, second and third in the 50-backstroke where Morgan Lenoce finished first (28.88).
  • Bantams took gold, silver, and bronze in the 50 breast with Alex Snyder taking first with a time of 33.41
  • The 100-yard butterfly was won by the Bantams as senior Maria Figueroa took first with a time of 1:03.54 followed by her fellow teammates Lauren Bessette (1:05.23), Sara Matson (1:06.17).
  • Junior Isabelle Tagliaferro finished just hundredths of a second before teammate Rachel Lundy to take first and second in the 50-freestyle with times of 25.48 and 25.50
  • First-year Esther Bradley made a splash in the 1mtr diving with a score of 224.50 taking first overall.
  • Lundy took first place in the 100-freestyle with a time of 55.89, one second ahead of Kate Dustin who took second overall (56.51)
  • Bantams Julianna Rieker, Natalie O'Loughlin and Steph Cai took first, second and third in the 100-backstroke
  • First-year Murphree, placed first with a time of 1:09.13 in the 100-breaststroke, less than a second faster than Trinity's Lopez-Ona (1:10.84).
  • Sara Matson took first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:43.46. Brooke Zurcher took second with a time of 5:51.01
  • First, second and third were collected by Bantam swimmers in the 50-yard butterfly, with Flis finishing first with a time of 28.40
  • First-year Esther Bradley gained another first in the 3mtr diving with a score of 220.45
  • Lopez-Ona took first place in the 100-IM with a time of 1:03.45
  • The 400 free relay team of Lenoce, Beiga, Cooper and Dunham finished first with a time of 3:52.99
The Bantams will return to the water when they travel to Mount Holyoke for a road meet on January 15th at 2:00 p.m.
