HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Women's Swimming and Diving team sped past Wesleyan University with a score of 170-129 in their meet on Wednesday. The Bantams lifting their record 6-2 on the season, while the Cardinals dropped to a 1-5 record.
Trinity took first, second, and third in the 1M dive as first year Esther Bradley finished first with a total of 226.72 points followed by Emma Conard (196.58) and Kayla Tatarian (174.59). In the 3M dive Bradley (215.55) and Tatarian (213.82) took first and second with a difference of 2 points.
The Bantams grabbed gold in nine events against the Cardinals, including first place finishes from Charlotte Murphree (1,000-yard free 11:14.46, 50-yard breaststroke 31.73 and 100-yard breaststroke 1:09.06), Niamh Kastner (100-yard butterfly 1:00.41and 50-yard butterfly 27.27), and Isabelle Tagliaferro (50-yard freestyle 25.21& 100-yard free 55.13).
Trinity began the day within the lanes with a first place finish in the 400-yard medley relay as the team of Rachel Kim, Murphree, Kastner and Rachel Lundy finished a second before second place with a time of 4:01.62. The Bantams 200-yard freestyle relay team of Lundy, Kate Dustin, Hannah Flis and Tagliaferro placed first with a time of 1:40.72.
The Bantams head back onto the blocks Saturday, January 20th as they compete against Wheaton College at 2:00PM.
