Fifteen from Twardosky Lifts Bantams Past Hamilton, 74-46

CLINTON, NY – Trinity College Women's Basketball team dominated on the hardwood as they collected their third New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) win over Hamilton with 74-46 for the final. The Bantams Rise to 12-5, 3-1 overall record, while the Continentals sink to 11-3-2, 4-3-1 record in the season.

Senior Reilly Campbell opened up the scoring for the Bantams with a good jumper within twenty seconds of play assisted by guard Indi DelRocco. Hamilton did not fall short on the scoring end keeping the first quarter a close matchup. Senior Bria Fuller netted nine points for the Bantams lifting them into the lead at 13-11 with 2:21 remaining in the first. With points peppered across the lineup from Campbell, Theresa Twardosky and Hannah Marzo rising Trinity to a 19-12 lead heading into the second quarter.

Twardosky would open the floodgates for the Bantams as she cashed in back-to-back three's, growing their lead by eleven just over a minute into the second. Trinity would just about double their score in the second quarter and hold the Continentals to just nine points. DelRocco would add nine of the Bantams twenty-four in the second, Trinity holding a comfortable lead heading into the half, 43-21. 

In the third quarter Trinity denied Hamilton any chance of closing the gap to less than a twenty point deficit. The Bantams would only net eleven points in the third, leading 54-33 closing out the third.

The Bantams played clean defense in the fourth with success on the offensive end to keep a steady twenty point lead over the Continentals.  Trinity's success off of the bench led them to a victory of 74-46 in NESCAC play.

Trinity wrapped up the conference match with three scorers in the double-digits with a game-high from Twardosky with fifteen points, hitting 3-6 from beyond the arch. Fuller netted thirteen, while DelRocco collected twelve points along with three assists adding to the team's offensive success.The Bantams added 32 points from the bench and 26 points within the paint.  

The Bantams dominated the stat lines winning the rebounding battle 47-35, and adding 26-14 points from the point. Trinity converted 27-of-66 (40.9%) from the floor, 7-of-17 (41.2%) from three, and 13-of-18 (72.2%) from the foul line. Hamilton shot 16-of-53 (30.2%) from the field, including 4-of-16 (25.0%) from three-point range, and 10-of-18 (55.6%) from the free throw stripe.

The Bantams will be on the road against Amherst College on Saturday, January 27th for a NESCAC battle against the mammoths at 3PM.
