HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Volleyball team cruised to a three-set victory over visiting Norwich University, 3-0 (25-15, 25-8, 25-19), in a non-conference match at Oosting Gymnasium Saturday afternoon. The Bantams improve to 19-3 overall, while the Cadets drop to 1-19 on the season.

Bella Caffuzzi tied a season-high with 12 kills, while classmate
Eva Lekovic chipped in seven kills, two digs and a block. Juniors
Ellie Gordon and
Maggie Barnes, and sophomore
Chloe Gentile slammed five kills apiece, with Gentile and Barnes adding five digs each. Nine different players logged an assist in the match, led by a team-high 10 assists from senior
Grace Sullivan, while first-year
Maya Pace dished out a career-high seven assists. Sophomore
Scarlett Jago grabbed a match-high nine digs, and junior
Rai Davis matched a career-high with eight digs.

Sophomore Lillie Ells and senior Abby Kanaga paced the Norwich offense with four kills each. Senior Ava Nihill logged a match-high 12 assists, while senior Giovanna Fruci notched seven digs, a match-high five service aces, two kills and two blocks.

With the win, the Bantams match the second-most wins in a season in program history, joining the 2011 squad (19-9). Trinity sits one win back of tying the program-record for wins in a season, set by the 1987 team (20-7).
The Bantams will return to the court when they travel to Colby College for a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) match Friday at 7:00 p.m. Norwich travels to New England College Tuesday for a 6:00 p.m. match.
