COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Trinity College Wrestling team kicked off the 2024-25 season at the Racich Rumble Invitational, hosted by Ursinus College, on Saturday afternoon.
In the 125-pound weight class, sophomore
Alexander Schaeublin recorded two wins in the championship bracket before falling in the quarterfinals.
At 133 pounds, juniors Matty Carrozza and
Ty Trickle both advanced to the semifinals in their respective brackets, ultimately finishing in third place in the weight class.
The Bantams had five wrestlers compete in the 141-pound championship bracket. Mohammadali Zaidi,
Cord Vallis, and
Lucas Weinstein were eliminated in the round of 32, while Aiden Herbert and
Daniel Echeverria both advanced to the quarterfinals before being defeated by NYU opponents.
Junior
Chris Perry posted three victories in the 149-pound class, advancing to the semifinals before being eliminated.
Nolan Sharp, who received a bye in the opening round, was ultimately defeated by technical fall by Thomas Mavroudis of West Chester University.
In the 157-pound class,
Chase Ledbury was defeated by decision in the round of 32. A. Pratt reached the round of 16 before falling by technical fall in the championship bracket.
At 165 pounds,
Liam Meeker and
Alexander Hurly each registered a win in the round of 32 but were eliminated in the round of 16. Bantam
Tucker Vician made it to the quarterfinals before losing by major decision in the 174-pound bracket. In the 184-pound class,
Dylan Sofield was eliminated in the round of 32.
The Bantams will return to action next Saturday, November 16th, for a dual meet against the Wesleyan University Cardinals, set for 1 p.m.
