Women's Swimming and Diving Bested by Springfield

HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Women's Swimming and Diving team were bested in the lanes 155.5-135 as they hosted Springfield College in the Trinity Natatorium. The Bantams drop their record 6-4 on the season, while the Pride rose to a 7-0 record 

Prior to the meet Trinity College honored the eight 2024 senior members on the Women's Swimming and Diving team. Lauren Bessette, Katarina DeLorenzo, Katherine Dustin, Helen Langer, Morgan Lenoce, Marissa Lopez-Ona, Sara Matson, and Natalie O'Loughlin.

The Bantams Women's 800 free relay team of Morgan Lenoce, Rachel Lundy, Charlotte Murphree and Niamh Kastner broke the pool record with a time of 8:05.42.

Trinity's Esther Bradley took first in the 1M dive tallying a score of 231.75 followed in fourth by teammate Kayla Tatarian with a total score of 215.76. Tatarian would place third in the 3M dive overall with a score of 205.20 for the Bantams.

Within the lanes to start off the day Julianna Reiker collected gold with a time of 11:27.22, finishing almost 13 seconds faster than second place. The Bantams finished first in four other events including in the 200-yard freestyle won by Isabelle Tagliaferro (2:00.39). Rachel Kim (50-yard backstroke, 28.21), Niamh Kastner (100-yard butterfly, 59.77) and Lenoce, Lundy, Murphree and Kastner (800-yard freestyle relay, 8:05.42).  

The Bantams had multiple second place finishes from Addison Dunham (200-yard free, 2:02.39) and Morgan Lenoce (50-yard backstroke, 28.80 & 100-yard backstroke, 1:01.52). Charlotte Murphree collected silver in both the 50-yard breaststroke (31.38) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:07.80), while Rachel Lundy finished second in the 50-yard free (25.48).

The Bantams will compete in the NESCAC Championships Thursday-Saturday (Feb 15th- 17th) at Middlebury College, visit the Bantams website for more information.
