NEW LONDON, Conn. - In a tightly contested match, the Trinity College Men's Tennis team traveled to Connecticut College and narrowly fell with a final score of 5-4 in conference play.
Entering singles play trailing 2-1, the Bantams gained momentum as the pair of Brandon Felcher and Luca Garbati secured a tiebreaker victory against their Camel opponents with a score of 8(7)-7(4).
In singles competition, three Bantams showcased their skill against the Camels. Eduardo Sanchez-Carrion claimed victory in the top spot of the ladder with a win by retirement in the third set. First-year Andrew Nelson demonstrated resilience, allowing his Camel opponent only three match points in their two-set battle, which ended with a score of 6-2, 6-1. In the sixth spot on the ladder, Garbati secured a 6-2, 7-5 victory, contributing to Trinity's four wins of the day.
Despite the Bantams' valiant effort, Connecticut College ultimately clinched the match with a final score of 5-4.
