Men's Lacrosse Upended Continentals on Senior Day, 11-7

HARTFORD, Conn. - Trinity College Men's Lacrosse honored their seniors this past weekend after they defeated the visiting Hamilton College Continentals on Saturday, April 6th, 11-7 for the final score. Bantams rose 6-4 and 2-3 in their season, while Hamilton fell 6-4, 3-4.

How It Happened

  • The Bantams got ahead early after five straight goals to lead 5-0 with 6:19 left in the first quarter. Goals from Tyler DeSimone, Hayden Shin, Bo Page, Jay Ottomanelli and Henry Schoettle. 

  • Hamilton netted their first goal during a man-up possession with eight seconds remaining in the first quarter, Bantams led 5-1 at the close of the first.

  • Trinity tacked on three more goals in the second within the first five minutes of play, closing the half up 8-2. Goals from Ottomanelli and two from Jon Krikorian.

  • Bantams would only add three more goals in the remaining quarters of play, maxing out at 11 on the day.

  • Hamilton would build off of a four 4-0 run at the end of the third into the start of the fourth, with this late game push the Continentals were able to close the gap by four goals. 

  • Bantams defeat Continentals 11-7 on Senior Day.

Notes

  • Jon Krikorian finished with three goals for a season high, marking his fifth multi-goal game this season. The Junior added 2 assists (third game with two assists) for a season high of a five point game.

  • First-year Bo Page added two goals in the NESCAC play, Page has netted a goal in every game this season. 

  • Jay Ottomanelli scored twice and tops the team with 20 goals.

  • Hayden Shin won 15 of 22 faceoffs, collected eight ground balls and added a goal and an assist. Currently the junior leads the Bantams with 67 gb's and a win percentage of 55% face-off win percentage. 

  • Carter Barford caused three turnovers and goaltender Jordan Opdahl stopped 14 shots.
