HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Football team returns to the field for the 2024 season looking to capture their 12^th New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championship, after grabbing a share of the conference crown following the 2023 season. The Bantams' nine-game conference slate will feature four road trips and five contests in the friendly confines of Jessee/Miller Field.
 
In 2023, the Bantams led the NESCAC in scoring, averaging 44.1 points per game, while holding opponents to a league-low 12.8 points per game en route to an 8-1 record. Trinity boasted the top passing offense in the conference, throwing for 309.1 yards per game. with 33 passing touchdowns. On the ground, the Bantams rushed for 172.3 yards per game, third-most in conference, with 18 touchdowns. Defensively, the Bantams allowed the second-fewest yards (2,312), yards per game (256.9) and touchdowns (16) in the NESCAC. Trinity owned the top-ranked rush defense, limiting opponents to 64.8 yards per game, and allowing zero touchdowns on the ground last season. The Bantams pass defense held opponent air attacks to 192.1 yards per game with a league-high 20 interceptions.

Trinity will kick off the 2024 season with their home opener against Colby College on September 14. The Bantams own a 43-13 record all-time against the Mules, including a 48-7 road win at Colby last season. The Mules last victory over the Bantams came in the 1995 season with the Bantams riding a 16-game win streak over Colby.
 
The Bantams first road test will be a trip to Bates College on September 21. Trinity rolled past the Bobcats last season with a 52-7 victory. All-time, the Bantams own a 41-7 record against the Bobcats dating back to their first meeting in 1915. Over their last four meetings, Trinity has outscored Bates, 211-21.
 
The Bantams return home on September 28 for a clash with Williams College at Jessee/Miller Field. Trinity pulled ahead of Williams, 40-39-2, in their all-time series after capturing a 41-14 win in Williamstown last season. The Ephs last win over Trinity came in a 42-3 victory during the 2021 season. The Bantams have won seven of the last 10 meetings between the squads, while Williams has taken three of the last five games.
 
The Bantams will travel to Tufts on October 5, carrying a three-game win streak against the Jumbos into the battle. Trinity downed Tufts, 44-19, in their 2023 season opener at Jessee/Miller Field. The Bantams are 46-19-1 against the Jumbos all-time. Tufts' last victory over the Bantams was a 14-8 victory during the 2019 season.
 
Trinity welcomes Hamilton to Jessee/Miller Field on October 12 for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff. The Bantams downed the Continentals, 34-21, last season, while Hamilton matched the opponent season-high for points scored against Trinity. All-time, the Bantams hold a 43-11-1 mark against Hamilton, dating back to their first meeting in 1897. Hamilton is seeking their first victory over the Bantams since a 22-21 win in 1994. Trinity has outscored the Continentals, 229-72, over their last six meetings.
 
The Bantams will seek revenge for the lone loss last season when they travel to Middlebury for a conference road test on October 19. The Panthers edged the Bantams, 20-15, at Jessee/Miller Field last season. All-time, Trinity is 32-13 against Middlebury, dating back to their inaugural meeting in 1912. The Bantams have outscored Middlebury, 247-105, over their last eight meetings with the Bantams averaging 30.87 points per game.
 
The Bantams take on Bowdoin at Jessee/Miller Field on October 26 for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff. Trinity defeated the Polar Bears, 58-21, in their regular season finale, which helped the Bantams grab a share of the NESCAC Championship. All-time, the Bantams are 43-6-2 against Bowdoin. Trinity is riding a 24-game win streak against the Polar Bears. Bowdoin's last victory over Trinity was a 19-0 win during the 1998 season.
 
Trinity's final road trip of the season comes on November 2 with a tilt at Amherst for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff. The Bantams blanked the Mammoths last season, rolling to a 49-0 victory at Jessee/Miller Field. All-time, the Bantams are 49-60-9 against Amherst, dating back to their first meeting in 1886. Trinity is riding a five-game win streak over the Mammoths, outscoring Amherst, 166-33, over those five games. Amherst's last win over Trinity came during the 2017 season with a 28-20 victory.
 
The Bantams will wrap the 2024 season with a home game against Wesleyan on November 9 at Noon. Trinity owns a 65-54-1 record all-time against the Cardinals, dating back to their first meeting in 1885.The Bantams blasted the Cardinals, 58-6, last season and have won six of the last seven meetings between the squads. The Cardinals last defeated Trinity during the 2019 season, 28-20.
