MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Trinity College Volleyball team suffered their first defeat of the season, falling to host Middlebury College, 3-0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-23) in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) tilt at Pepin Gymnasium Saturday afternoon. The Bantams move to 9-1 on the season and 1-1 in conference play, while the Panthers sit at 2-0 in the NESCAC and 5-4 overall.

Ellie Gordon led the Bantams attack with a match-high 13 kills. Senior
Eva Lekovic added nine kills, four digs and a block, while first-year
Annette Schlunk tallied five kills and five digs. Junior
Caroline Howell dished out 15 assists, five digs, a kill and a block, while sophomore
Scarlett Jago grabbed a team-high nine digs.
Middlebury had three attackers with double-figure kills, paced by a match-high 13 kills from sophomore Molly Harrison. Junior Ava Tuccio chipped in 12 kills and five blocks, while sophomore Lauren Baxter recorded 10 kills. Senior Gabbie O'Toole registered a match-high 38 assists, and first-year Annabella Rando snared a match-high 13 digs for the Panthers.
The Bantams will look to get back in the win column when they travel to Connecticut College for a NESCAC match Friday at 6:00 p.m. Middlebury host Skidmore College in non-conference action Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
