HARTFORD, Conn. - Trinity College Men's Squash enters the 2025-26 season seated No. 2 in the College Squash Association rankings. Their New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) debut kicks off this weekend versus Williams College on Saturday, Nov. 15th at 2PM, followed by Tufts University on Sunday, Nov. 16th in the newly added Kovas Squash Center. The Bantams return to the courts with a 20 man roster including a senior class with the top of the ladder still intact from the 2024-2025 campaign.
Trinity wrapped up the 2024-25 season ranked No.4 falling in the CSA Potter Cup Semifinals to the top ranked University of Pennsylvania. In the regular season the Bantams went 12-3, adding their 13 win in the post season over University of Virginia in the Potter Cup Quarterfinals. Trinity registered their eighteenth consecutive New England Small College Athletic Conference Title with a 8-1 victory over No. 4 Tufts University. Senior, Joachim Chuah earned NESCAC Player of the year and First Team All-Conference honors. Classmate Benedek Takacs also received First-Team nods, along with Second-Team selects of first-years Huzaifa Ibrahim and Low Wa-Sern.
Chuah becomes the ninth player in program history to be named Player of the Year. Chuah collected his second First Team selection after posting an 18-3 record, including a 4-2 record in CSA singles play which featured a run to the CSA Singles Semifinal match. For his career, Chuah holds a 46-10 record. Takacs earned his first First Team selection after claiming back-to-back Second Team honors and 2023 Rookie of the Year status. Takacs logged a 12-4 record during his junior campaign, moving his career record to 42-13 overall. Ibrahim posted a 16-5 record in his first season in the Blue & Gold to earn his first All-Conference honor, while Low Wa-Sern notched a 9-5 record in his first season en route to All-NESCAC status.
Bantams Ibrahim claimed the Molloy North title in the CSA Individual Championships, downing three consecutive opponents, going 9-0 over the weekend. Chuah, displayed his talents on the court as he climbed his way to the Pool Trophy semifinals, where he faced UPenn's Omar Hafez on the glass blue court at Grand Central Terminal. Chuah started strong with an 11-8 win in the opening game. However, despite a hard-fought battle, Chuah ultimately lost 3-1, concluding his tournament run.
"We had a good season last year despite graduating a large class the year before. This required many of our players to step into higher positions and adapt to the intensity. I only wish we could have finished a bit higher for our seniors, who were such a special group. This year, we've brought in a talented incoming class to complement the core of our returning ladder. We're excited to see what we can accomplish this season," commented Head Coach Moustafa Hamada.
The Bantams' 2025–26 roster features 20 student-athletes, including 11 returners. Seniors Chuah, Takacs, and Daniel Simon headline the veteran group, joined by juniors Dmytro Shcherbakov, Graham Roberts, Bo Page, and Andrik Lim Kai Shan. The sophomore class includes Oliver Scott, Wa-Sern Low, Raphael Lamprecht, and Huzaifa Ibrahim.
Trinity welcomes three new sophomores — Charlie Mullin, Javier Romo Lopez, and Lucas Alvarez — along with six first-years: Ruiqi Wang, Angel Salgado Jr., Segundo Portabales, Trevor Garcia, Eyad Awad, and Zain Amjad.
