Women's Ice Hockey 2025-26 Season Preview

HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Women's Ice Hockey team will look to make their seventh straight appearance in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) and advance to Semifinals for the first time since 2015-16. The Bantams will open the 2025-26 season when they welcome Connecticut College to the Koeppel Community Sports Center for a NESCAC tilt on Friday, November 14 at 7:00 p.m.
 
Bantam Bytes:
  • Head Coach Keith Maurice will be behind the bench for his 11th season, holding a record of 96-106-19 with the Bantams.
  • Trinity delivered a 10-13-1 record last season with a 7-8-1 mark in the NESCAC, claiming the sixth-seed in the Women's Ice Hockey Championship tournament.
  • The Bantams were edged out by third-seeded Colby College, 2-1, in the Quarterfinals.
  • Last season, Trinity ranked third in the conference in face-off win percentage (.555, 716-575), fifth in shots (700), blocked shots (256), and seventh in goals (51), and assists (72).
  • On special teams, the Bantams power-play unit ranked seventh with a 16.2 success rate, converting 12 of 74 opportunities, while the penalty kill unit also ranked seventh with a kill rate of 89.7% (87/97).
  • The Bantams will be without their three leading scorers from last season with the graduations of Jenny Guider and Martina Exnerova, and Marta Mazzocchi will be competing international this season.
  • Kate French tallied career-highs in points (13), goals (5) and assists (8) with two game-winning goals and four blocked shots.
  • Mikayla Murray delivered six points with three goals and three assists, while Gabriela Gross added five points with three goals and two assists in their debut seasons.
  • Ava Gosnell added five points with five assists, and Caroline Holm notched four points with a goal and three assists.
  • The Bantams forecheck will also feature Lily Brook, Nina McKenna, Taylor Settles, and Sally Countryman, along with first-years Nani Keyes, Sophie Rousell, Ellie Calo, Meena Al-Kadiri and Marlie Berglin.
  • Captain Annabelle Merkel will anchor a veteran Bantam blue line alongside Livia Angioletti, Lillian Cassidy, Cassidy Yaun and Georgia Bussey, with the additions of first-year Taylor Berman.
  • Madeline Carter will be back in goal for the Bantams after starting all 24 games last season, posting a 2.12 goals against average and a .901 save percentage with 453 saves and three shutouts.
  • Charlotte Bizup and Emma Eschweiler are back to provide relief for Carter, along with first-year Kathrine Lemke.
