2025-26 Men's Ice Hockey Preview

HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Men's Ice Hockey team will look to bounce back after suffering an early exit in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championship Tournament last season. The Bantams will open the 2025-26 season with a NESCAC road trip to Connecticut College on Friday, November 14 at 7:00 p.m.
 
Bantam Bytes:
  • Head Coach Matt Greason enters his 16th season at the helm after guiding the Bantams to a 16-7-2 record with a 12-4-2 mark in the NESCAC last season. Greason owns a career record of 243-85-23 at Trinity.
  • Trinity earned the second seed in the NESCAC Men's Ice Hockey Championship Tournament, but fell to seventh-seeded Middlebury College, 1-0, in the Quarterfinals.
  • Last season, the Bantams ranked second in the conference in points (22), points per game (8.8), goals (85), goals per game (3.40), assists (135), and assists per game (5.40).
  • The Trinity power play unit ranked third in conference, delivering a 17.9% conversion rate with 19 power play goals.
  • The Bantams penalty kill unit ranked fifth in the NESCAC, killing off 75 of 84 (89.3%) chances last season.
  • Defensively, Trinity allowed the fewest goals (52) in the league with a combined .922 save percentage and 280 blocked shots.
  • Senior goaltender Devon Bobak started all 25 games for Trinity, ranking second in the league in goals against average (1.96) and fourth in save percentage (.926) with 615 saves and two shutouts.
  • Sophomore Aiden Hopewell and Jack Fialkoff will provide relief for Bobak during the season.
  • Senior Spencer Korona claimed New England Hockey Writers Association (NEWHA) Division III All-Star and NESCAC First Team honors after posting a career-high 27 points with five goals and a career-high 22 assists with a career-high +19 plus/minus rating.
  • Sophomore Ty Broad took home NESCAC Rookie of the Year and Second Team honors after logging 20 points with 11 goals, including two-game winners, and nine assists, along with a +15 plus/minus rating.
  • Junior Jakob Karpa earned NESCAC Second Team accolades after helping anchor the Bantams blue line with eight points on two goals and six assists with a +13 plus/minus rating in 25 games.
  • Junior James Barbour notched 18 points with eight goals and 10 assists, while classmate Connor Sedlak and sophomore Ryan Panico added 14 points apiece.
  • Junior Aidan D'Urso and sophomore Weston Turner tallied eight points each, with Turner adding a +12 plus/minus rating, while junior Josephy Harney appeared in 25 games, potting six points with two goals and four assists.
  • Senior Nick Royster, sophomores Dane Carter, Jacob Wilson, Culin Wilson, Michael Sullo, and first-years Will Diamond, Ryan Friedman, Brendan Dumas, Alexis Billequey, Blake Cotton and Ian Spencer will look to add punch to Bantams scoring attack.
  • Seniors Brandon Cimino, Kevin Mackay and David Paluch, junior Johnny Logan, sophomores Oliver Gabrielson and Brendan Kimball, and first-years Jason Zaccari and Will Brophy will provide depth on the blue line.
