Women's Indoor Track and Field Compete at Tufts Stampede Open

Medford, Mass. – The Trinity College Women's and Men's Indoor Track and Field teams competed in the Tufts University Stampede Open on Saturday, February 15th.

On Friday morning, two Bantam athletes, senior Nolan McKenna and junior Zuri Johnson, represented Trinity at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational. McKenna finished 32nd in the men's 200m dash with a time of 22.31 and placed 25th in the men's 400m with a time of 49.26. Johnson finished 32nd in the men's 400m dash IINVITE event with a time of 50.50 and placed 22nd in the men's 200m dash INVITE event with a time of 22.09.

Standout Performances in the Field:

  • In the women's high jump, first-year Lauren Grattan finished 7th with a leap of 1.57m, while senior Chloe Hertigan placed 9th with a jump of 1.49m.

  • Donovan Koukal-Kolli earned a second-place finish in the men's triple jump, soaring to 13.84m, a mark that ranks 61st in the country for NCAA DIII Men's Indoor Track and Field.

  • In men's shot put, three Bantams placed in the top ten: Pete Passaro finished 5th with a throw of 13.75m, Noah Falvey took 6th with a 13.69m mark, and Andrew Williams finished 10th with a throw of 13.00m.

Standout Performances on the Track:

  • Ali Gall ran a time of 5:16.80 in the women's 1 mile, securing a 5th-place finish, while Vivian Jacobs-Townsley placed 8th with a time of 5:23.52.

  • Liam Kelly finished 6th in the men's 400m dash with a time of 52.98, followed by Charlie Young in 10th place with a time of 54.39.

  • Paige Orr secured 4th place in the women's 600m dash with a time of 1:43.66, while Jenna Najjar finished 8th in 1:45.81.

  • First-year Tyler Johnson placed 6th in the men's 600m dash with a time of 1:25.66.

  • First-year Jillian Strynar won the women's 60m dash with a time of 7.65, currently ranking 9th in the country for NCAA DIII Women's Indoor Track and Field.

  • In the men's 60m dash, Connor Quiet finished 6th with a time of 7.17.

  • Larson Sippel placed 2nd in the men's 800m with a time of 1:59.67, followed by first-year Calix McCormick in 8th place with a time of 2:03.23.

  • Ava Del Vescovo finished in the top ten in the women's 1000m, placing 10th with a time of 2:36.77.

  • In the men's 1000m, Dolan Pols finished 6th with a time of 2:36.77, while Sam Benham took 9th with a time of 2:37.54.

  • Strynar also excelled in the women's 200m, placing 3rd with a time of 25.68.

  • In the men's 200m, Charlie Young and Liam Kelly both scored points for the Bantams, with Young finishing 5th in 23.32 and Kelly 6th in 23.35.

Trinity will compete next in the Springfield Triangle Classic on Saturday, February 22nd, at Springfield College, beginning at 10:30 AM.
