SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Trinity College Wrestling team placed 13
th at the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Futures Tournament, hosted by Western New England University Sunday afternoon.
Sophomore
Daniel Echeverria placed third overall in the 141-pound bracket, collecting a trio of technical fall victories over Jack Taylor (17-2), Aidan Morgan (19-4) and Jerry Hill (20-2) before falling in the semifinals. Echeverria grabbed a 21-5 technical fall win over Stone Farnsworth of Castleton University to claim third place.
Sophomore
Alexander Hurly finished sixth overall in the 165-pound bracket, advancing to the Round of 16 with a pinfall victory over Matt Hoxie in the Round of 32. Hurly rattled off four straight victories in the consolation bracket, including a pair of pinfall wins, to earn the sixth spot.
Senior
Dylan Sofield advanced to the quarterfinals in the bracket with a major decision victory, and then added a decision victory to finish in the semifinals of the consolation bracket. Sophomores

Liam Meeker, and first-years
Lucas Weinstein and
Lucas Rosen each fell in the Round of 32 in their respective weight classes.
