SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Trinity College Wrestling team placed 13^th at the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Futures Tournament, hosted by Western New England University Sunday afternoon.

Sophomore Daniel Echeverria placed third overall in the 141-pound bracket, collecting a trio of technical fall victories over Jack Taylor (17-2), Aidan Morgan (19-4) and Jerry Hill (20-2) before falling in the semifinals. Echeverria grabbed a 21-5 technical fall win over Stone Farnsworth of Castleton University to claim third place.

Sophomore Alexander Hurly finished sixth overall in the 165-pound bracket, advancing to the Round of 16 with a pinfall victory over Matt Hoxie in the Round of 32. Hurly rattled off four straight victories in the consolation bracket, including a pair of pinfall wins, to earn the sixth spot.

Senior Dylan Sofield advanced to the quarterfinals in the bracket with a major decision victory, and then added a decision victory to finish in the semifinals of the consolation bracket. Sophomores Nolan Sharp, Connor Tuttle, and Liam Meeker, and first-years Lucas Weinstein and Lucas Rosen each fell in the Round of 32 in their respective weight classes.
