HADLEY, Mass. – Trinity College junior
Joachim Chuah Han Wen (Shah Alam, Malaysia) was tabbed as the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Men's Squash Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference, announced by the league office Wednesday.
Chuah Han Wen was joined by classmate
Benedek Takacs (Szatymaz, Hungary) on the First Team, while senior
Mateo Restrepo (Medellin, Colombia), and first-years
Huzaifa Ibrahim (Karachi, Pakistan) and
Low Wa-Sern (Ipoh, Malaysia) received Second Team honors.
Chuah Han Wen becomes the ninth player in program history to be named Player of the Year, joining
Mohamed Sharaf (2022-2024), Miko Aijanen (2020), Michael Craig (2018), Vikram Malhotra (2012), Randy Lim (2011), Gustav Detter (2009), and Baset Chaudhry (2008). Chuah Han Wen collects his second First Team selection after posting an 18-3 record, including a 4-2 record in CSA singles play which featured a run to the CSA Singles Championship match. Chuah Han Wen added a NESCAC Second Team selection following the 2024 season. For his career, Chuah Han Wen holds a 46-10 record.
Takacs earned his first First Team selection after claiming back-to-back Second Team honors and 2023 Rookie of the Year status. Takacs logged a 12-4 record during his junior campaign, moving his career record to 42-13 overall.
Restrepo caps his Bantams career with his first All-Conference selection after registering a 9-10 record, finishing with a career record of 41-21. Ibrahim posted a 16-5 record in his first season in the Blue & Gold to earn his first All-Conference honor, while
Low Wa-Sern notched a 9-5 record in his first season en route to All-NESCAC status.
